a5c7b9f00b Halley's Comet returns to the solar system and the English/American team aboard the shuttle "Churchill", making a close-up survey of the comet, discovers an alien spacecraft in the head of the comet. Inside the spacecraft are some large bat-like creatures and in three cocoons are three "dead" humans - two men and a woman. The "Churchill" takes the humans and a creature back to Earth. There the bosses of the project are amazed to find the shuttle burnt out and all but one of the crew - Carlsen - dead. The humans from the spacecraft suddenly awake and all those who come into contact with them are drained of their "lifeforce" and in time all the victims - including most of the population of London - are turned into zombies all preying on the horrified survivors for their "lifeforce". It's up to Carlsen and Major Caine of the SAS to stop them before the whole world turns into a big blood-hunt…
The space shuttle Churchill is assigned to observe the Halley's Comet under the command of Col. Tom Carlsen. They see a strange form attached to the comet and Carlsen goes with a team to investigate. They find three humanoid life forms in caskets and they bring them to the Churchill. However, Earth loses contact with the shuttle and the Space Research Center sends another spacecraft to search the Churchill. They find the crew dead and the shuttle burnt and one rescue pod missing. They bring the humanoids to Earth and soon Dr. Hans Fallada and his team discover that the Space Girl is a sort of vampire and drains the life force from people transforming them into zombies. When the authorities find that Col. Tom Carlsen has survived, they summon him to explain what happened in the Churchill. Carlsen tells an incredible story about the three aliens and he teams up with Col. Colin Caine trying to save mankind from the evil vampires from the space.
This movie is about alien vampires who walk around naked and there's really only one big laugh in the entire movie. Come on,this movie could have been so much funnier than it was,instead of turning into an end-of-the-world potboiler…
Lifeforce is one of the best sci-fi films ever made, and one of my all-time favorite movies. This film is truly underrated by most. The special effects are stupendous and the action unrelenting. There is honestly not a 2 minute period where you will be bored. Golan-Globus found their calling with this film, which was a departure from their usual action/war pictures. Considering all the crap movies that have been made that got sequels, I can't understand for the life of me why no sequels were done. The premise revolves around a weird race of space aliens that are found in a ship in the tail of Hailey's Comet. The aliens turn out to be vampires that can assume any form they choose. After inadvertently bringing them to Earth, they break loose to wreak havoc that could destroy the whole human race! If you don't see this movie, you will have really missed out. Steve Railsback's stoic performancethe captain of the space shuttle Churchill is great and Mathilda May has to be the sexiest space alien of all time. Not a movie for kids,Mathilda is nude for most of the flick. What ever happened to her??? If you are a fan of sci-fi, this movie is a must-have. Don't bother renting it, just buy it. It can be found on DVD for only $10 at most stores. I am hesitant to give any film a 10 rating, which is similar to saying that is "perfect", but I honestly can't think of anything they could have done to make this film any better. It's THAT good.

Secondly that they are still alive and preserved on the ship and will return with Halley's comet in the mid 21st centuary Open to interpretation, either the energy of the human souls has been used to revive the vampires in their crystal coffins or the humans have actually become the new vampires and are preserved until the ship returns to Earth with Halley's comet. The only released version in Germany e.g. is the Theatrical Version. In the UK and US on the other hand, the only available DVD Version is the longer Original Version, referred toDirector's Cut. Lots of footage got cut out but most of the cuts were probably made for pace. Lots of scenes refering to vampires have been removed. Apart from that, the investigations of incidents with vampires, which have been cut out from the Theatrical Version, are much shorterwell. Some scenes really benefit from this because the timing is better but in most cases, the Director's Cut is the better and more convincing version. In total there are more than 100 hundred differences between both versions resulting in a difference of more than 14 minutes.
